Over 86,000 visitors attended the AMB 2010. With a large number of machines sold and over 100 contacts on each day of the trade fair, EMCO was able to make optimal use of the AMB industry platform to present its innovative products. In addition to the triple-turn version of the Hyperturn 65 with three tool turrets and an increased spindle distance of 1300 mm and the fully featured version of the vertical VT 250 lathe with Y axis, hollow spindle drive and driven tools, visitors were also captivated by the Hyperturn 95/110: designed for complex complete machining, this machine is available in two base lengths and two spindle sizes, with milling spindle and B axis or also with two turrets. All of which enables complex and time-consuming milling, drilling, and even gear-cutting operations to be carried out in a single work process.
The German economy is currently experiencing a strong resurgence, which was clearly in evidence at the AMB 2010 in Stuttgart. The second exhibition for metal working at the new Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre was attended by 1,343 exhibitors from 29 countries. With over 86,000 visitors, AMB 2010 even slightly exceeded the excellent attendance figures from 2008 (85,000), which came as a pleasant surprise after the difficult economic conditions of the previous year.
Dr Wilfried Schäfer, Managing Director of the German Machine Tool Builders' Association, confirmed the trade fair's success for his member companies: "From our perspective, AMB 2010 was a resounding success. The quality of visitors was high and there was a palpable interest in investment. We are confident that the large number of inquiries will result in a good level of post-fair business."
